Here's an intriguing question

Imagine two heavenly objects are revolving around each other e.g. earth and moon revolving around each other.

Under what condition the bodies will 
a) collapse on each other
b) move away from each other
c) continue to orbit at the same orbital radius.

All three conditions are found in nature.
